Job Description

  • Location: Lot E1, K1 Street, Cat Lai IZ 2, Thanh My Loi Ward, District 2, HCM City.
  • Working time: Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Gross salary: upto 60M/ month (max).
  • Report to Manufacturing Manager (solid line) – Siamp Ltd’s General Director (dotted line)
 
FUNCTION
  • Deputy Manufacturing Manager is a key operational role in charge of the day-to-day running of the SIAMP Vietnam plant.
  • The Deputy Manufacturing Manager’s mission is to secure daily manufacturing performance (output, quality, cost, deadlines) with a specific focus on assembly operations, internal logistics flow and automation investment, so that the Manufacturing Manager can concentrate on new product management, the site project, TRS improvement and injection.



ROLE / ASSIGNMENT
  • The primary function of this position is to manage the daily operation of the plant manufacturing sanitary products (Fittings: Inlet – outlet valves; Concealed
    Cistern…), with a priority focus on
    assembly, internal logistics flow and automation.
  • Brings to the site the assembly and automation engineering competence that SIAMP Vietnam does not currently hold internally
  • Acts as the operational relay between the Management Team and the Vietnamese production teams, and deputises for the Manufacturing Manager during absence
RESPONSIBILITY AND TASK 
  • Runs the plant on a day-to-day basis
  • Ensures daily execution of the production plan: output, adherence to schedule, manning, changeovers
  • Leads the daily production meeting and the weekly operational review
  • Arbitrates short-term priorities with QC, Warehouse, Maintenance and Purchasing
  • Ensures factory discipline, HSE standards and 5S are applied and sustained on the shop floor
  • Takes corrective action to control deviations

Leads assembly operations
  • Owns assembly performance: line balancing, cycle time versus standard, productivity per head, first-pass yield, rework and scrap at line
  • Redesigns lines and workstations where required; sets and maintains standard work and standard times
  • Builds and maintains the operator skills matrix and the assembly training plan
  • Manages internal logistics and material flow
  • Owns the flow from warehouse to line and between workshops: component feeding, WIP levels, kitting, buffer sizing, line-side presentation
  • Owns the master production plan and scheduling across workshops; manages component availability with Warehouse and Purchasing
  • Reduces handling, waiting and stock-outs at line; improves inventory accuracy at shop-floor level

Develops automation and manages the related capex
  • Identifies automation and semi-automation opportunities on assembly and material handling
  • Builds the business case (investment, payback, manpower impact) for General Director and Group HQ approval
  • Leads specification, supplier selection, installation, commissioning, validation and ramp-up of automation equipment
  • Is accountable for post-implementation performance against the business case that justified the investment
Manages the production teams
  • Supervises, coaches and evaluates supervisors and team leaders
  • Manages attendance, shift rotation, discipline and manpower planning; acts to reduce absenteeism and turnover
Reports and deputises
  • Produces daily and weekly manufacturing reporting for the Manufacturing Manager and the General Director, in English
  • Informs the Management Team of any significant and/or difficult points on a weekly basis
  • Fully deputises for the Manufacturing Manager during absence, within defined decision limits
  • Authorities: Alerts the Management Team if there are any deviations/blocking points

Job Requirement

  • Vietnamese native. Local contract and local package.
  • Fluent English is mandatory (spoken and written): daily working language with the Management Team and Group HQ.
  • General engineering degree or equivalent – Industrial, manufacturing, mechatronics or mechanical engineering
  • Experiences: minimum 10 years in manufacturing, including at least 5 years managing production teams in an FDI or international-standard plant
  • Proven track record running a production plant on a day-to-day basis – not a functional or staff role
  • Assembly expertise at volume: line design, line balancing, standard work, productivity improvement
  • Automation experience: specifying, justifying and commissioning automated or semi-automated assembly or handling equipment, with concrete projects delivered
  • Internal logistics and material flow experience (lean flow, WIP, line feeding)
  • Proven experience of reporting to foreign management within an expatriate-led organisation
    Good command of ERP/MRP (production and planning modules) – Pack Office
  • Leadership – Shop-floor presence – Good organization/methodology – Ability to manage priorities – Ability to take decisions – Rigorous on data
  • Accepts the future relocation of the plant to Nhon Trach, Dong Nai province
  • Preferred: exposure to plastic injection moulding (dialogue only – the competence is covered in-house); Green Belt / Six Sigma; sanitary ware or technical plastics; ISO 9001 and product certification environments
